What do you feel are characteristics of a good zombie movie?

EDIT: And what would your favorite zombie movie be? Do you prefer realism (Night of the Living Dead), a little bit of zaniness (Dead Alive), or just outright "comedic" horror (Return of the Living Dead, or, most of the zombie movies out there)?

I already said in my last post that "Night of the Living Dead" will always be my favorite zombie movie.

I think a good zombie movie should leave you feeling uneasy. It should be very realistic and plausable. The more far fetched the movie is, the less scary it is for me. That is why I prefer "Night of the Living Dead" to the other zombie movies. It felt more like it could really happen. The simplicity made it better then Resident Evil or 28 Days Later.

Heh, the thing is that "good" can be pretty subjective. But yes, creative zombie killings...hm, good thought.

Shaun of the Dead was so funny! nate and I saw a sneak preview and the director and co-writer (lead actor guy) were there! "Shaun" seems really serious in person.

If you have never seen Wild Zero - it is now time! Best zombie movie ever!

It includes:
~A Guitar-Katanna
~Zombie-Love
~Laser eye-beams
~Motorcycles and microphones that shoot fire
~So much more - OMG I could go on forever. See it!

Yes, I'm not so sure about the method used in NOTLD (a meteor from outer space?), but the feel was very intense. They had little to no weapons, they were extremely panicked...Resident Evil, the movie...*sigh* Just very sad. :(

Weapons

It seemed more realistic. How many people honestly have a ton of guns stocked up in there housed? NOTLD was much more true to real people.
