I was just shown a picture of me that was taken yesterday. Holy crap do I need to lose weight. I used to big, but still (I thought, anyway) photogenic. Not anymore. ;_;

not that this is a 'good' excuse... but...

I spent the majority of my life (let's say 14 years cause you never tell a baby they're ugly...) being told I'm fat, ugly, and stupid. I spent 4 years of my life being told I was suppose to be the fuck up in the family, I'm not the one that should succeed, and I'm just running it in that I graduated from high school.

I have NO self esteem because of this and though I've spent the last 3 years being told how friendly, pretty, and happy I am, that isn't enough to counter act all the negative feedback I've received in my life. I try, but I also say what I feel.....

Plus, I have "abandonment" issues and that leads me back to the thinking that I'm not good enough in anyway because if I was why would people leave me? (mainly my father is to blame for this)

So, I don't know if I'll ever be able to think of myself positively all or even most of the time.

Nah, I still think you're pretty photogenic Stephen. I think it has something to do with the fact that you shaved your beard.

Admittedly, having a beard will add the illustion of facial definition and a more refined jaw-line. It's all smoke and mirrors, buddy.

Sure, we could both stand to lose some pounds, but don't think you look bad because you don't. This has been my one sincere post of the day. Thank you.

Because no matter how difficult things can get, the only way to face it is to love yourself.
And I do love myself.

here's the thing though, besides the abandonment thing, I really like myself. I like that I'm blunt, happy, and successful with my life (and currently successful with love)....

That does not mean I have to see myself as "beautiful" or "pretty" I can be happy without seeing myself that way. I like who I am on the inside and honestly that means a hell of a lot more then how I feel about my appearance....

Plus, I measure myself with the friends I have.. if I didn't have these amazing people in my life then I'd probably start to worry, but there has to be some good in me to have the friends I have and that is not over looked.
