Yeah, I think I spent most of the weekend just playing and beating Metal Gear Solid. Cool game, I'm looking forward to playing MGS2.

Cleaned up a bit. My room is once again looking a little less bachelor-esque. Pretty soon I could probably even have a girl over and not mind having her see my room. :)

Heard about Kumori Con. Too bad I really just didn't have the money to go. Maybe next year. Same thing with Bumbershoot. I heard that people that went had a blast.

Got my lazy ass to the gym last night. Man, I need something for my shoes. My feet are just killing me. It feels like I went walking on concrete with just my bare feet. >_< I'll probably go lift weights tonight.

This week will probably be pretty quiet. It's payday, but as usual it'll mostly be gone by the time Thursday rolls around. Same thing with this weekend. But next weekend I have potential karaoke at SBK and then Karen's party the next night. Maybe I'll throw down for something really good to take. :) And then...Hawaii! Not that I'll have much money. `^_^

I suppose I should get back to work.

When you're done lifting weights tonight or whatever, do you want to hang out? ^.^

Wasn't that just a wonderful game? I know some people complain about the length of the cut-scenes between the action, but I enjoyed the story so much that I didn't think there was anything wrong with that. Definitely one of those games that should be classified as art in my opinion. MGS2 is a fun game, but as many may tell you, the story suffers a bit. However, after you go through 2, you absolutely have to play MGS3--that game is phenomenal, and perhaps the best one in the series so far (although I will always have a soft spot for the first one).

It was AWESOME! I was hooked, and these days, it's kind of hard to get me into a game where I can just play all day. :)

No, I thought the cut-scenes were cool. :)

I think there were a few parts that would get it negative points as far as it being considered "art". The parts where they broke the fourth wall, though funny, detracted from the "artness" of the game.

My roomie's boyfriend lent me MGS3, so now I just need to find MGS2. :)

I always found the cutscense balanced well with the action. There is no problem with long cutscense in games, just so long as the transition between cutscene and action is not jarring. Added elements (like the zoom and pan ability in cutscenes in MGS2 or the optional first person view during cutscenes in MGS3) help to not spoil the immersion or player's sense of control during the cutscenes.

I do not think that the story of MGS2 suffers, but it certainly gets complicated. I must say that I rather enjoyed it though. And yes, MGS3 is one of the most beautiful games that I have ever played.

Actually, that is one of the charming things about the MGS series. I would not say that it breaks the fourth wall, so much as it never forgets that it is a game. You will see a lot of that near the end of MGS2. In fact, I think that in that particular instance it greatly helps to enhance the player's immersion (you will see why.)

I wish I could have made it to K Con, but I was short on money as well. I had to work also.
