I have to thank and curse Nikki at the same time for showing me that website.

It's good that I can easily keep track of my eating and drinking habits. It's right there in front of my eyes. And that prevents me from just sweeping it under the rug. I had a pizza an hour ago? Ha, ha! No need to worry about that, it's in the past!

...yeah, can't do that anymore. -_- But, it's a good thing...though my rumbling tummy (wanting pizza!) doesn't think so...

EDIT: Huh. Your average fifth of 80-proof spirits (rum, vodka, etc.) has 1600 calories. :( I guess that's one more reason not to drink a fifth in an entire day. `^_^

But I think I have to thank Nikki and ReneƩ. Between the two of them, I might've found something that's going to work for me as far as eating better. *hugs them* :)

Wow, that's a really cool site! Apparently I'm doing well except for my carb intake - it's not horrible (at least it's mostly from whole grains, fruits and veggies), but it could stand to be lower.

I didn't realize my power walks burned so many calories! Now I feel bad for missing it today! :(

*hugs* ^_^

..........................I'm sorry, did you just say "that's one more reason not to drink a fifth in an entire day"? .............as if, you NEEDED more than one reason to not do that? IT'S A FIFTH!!!!!!!!!!! O_O

Well, we'll see if you can keep up with me in Hawaii. Once I'm there, I'm throwing (most) caution to the wind. :)

Yes, I know you're impressed. :)

What can I say? It takes that much anymore to get me liquored up. Though, hopefully with me cutting down, it won't take quite so much anymore.

Dan told me that Weight Watchers (http://www.weightwatchers.com/) has a very good online calorie tracker. However, I'm not paying $13 a month for it. Screw that. `^_^

I like FitDay, though there are some more features and tweaks they could work on. But it really opens my eyes when I see "OH. All told, I ate 5000 calories today. Gah." It's different when you see the numbers written down in front of you. :(

*hugs* Almost time for our vacations! Woooo! :)

It's partially motivation too, though... $13/MONTH for the online one? It was $12/WEEK back when I was doing that in-person. It worked, getting me down to "compliments" stage and beyond... until I slacked off, stopped paying attention, and went right back up. I'm certainly not down about keeping the money, but just getting motivated can be tough sometimes. ^_^'

Slacking off?

Tell me about it! I've gained back all of the almost 80 pounds I'd lost. When I get back from Hawaii, it's BACK ON THE WAGON TIME!!!

The fee is still $12/week for in-person meetings, or you can opt to do the $12.95/month for online only. There are benefits to both styles, and for a while I was actually doing both at the same time. Nothing can beat the online tools they make available to you. They are incredible! There is a great, supportive online community as well.

I think the hardest part about the online experience was that it was just too much accountability for me. I didn't like being responsible for weighing myself, because I knew that I'd either avoid it or cheat and lie (which of course was only lying to myself, but still...)

WW is seriously the only thing that I've ever done that works. Now if I can just stay with it for real this time. ;P

I saw the word 'throwing' and immediately expected "up" to come after it. :P

I think I'd prefer the online stuff. It's cold, hard facts being put in front of me. I don't like fudging numbers, so I'd stay pretty honest. And if I can keep up posting in LJ nearly everyday for...what, years now?...I should be okay with inputting food info.

I know my problem. Pizza and liquor. If I could just tell myself not to crave those anymore, geez, I'd be looking hot!

Ok, stupid question coming. Ready? Wait, that's not the stupid question. OK! Why do you have to get "liquored up" whenever you drink?

This weekend I ate...WELL more than that. I don't think I'm allowed to have pizza anymore. The amount of sodium alone that I had...bleh!

Actually it was a drunk me joke, but you take what you can get, right?

Apparently you didn't hear the story about the dolmades... It's probably better that way. ;)

Yes, it takes me that much to get liquored. But it doesn't mean I have to.
