Counting Calories is Lame
Sep. 16th, 2005 08:53 pmI have to thank and curse Nikki at the same time for showing me that website.
It's good that I can easily keep track of my eating and drinking habits. It's right there in front of my eyes. And that prevents me from just sweeping it under the rug. I had a pizza an hour ago? Ha, ha! No need to worry about that, it's in the past!
...yeah, can't do that anymore. -_- But, it's a good thing...though my rumbling tummy (wanting pizza!) doesn't think so...
EDIT: Huh. Your average fifth of 80-proof spirits (rum, vodka, etc.) has 1600 calories. :( I guess that's one more reason not to drink a fifth in an entire day. `^_^
But I think I have to thank Nikki and ReneƩ. Between the two of them, I might've found something that's going to work for me as far as eating better. *hugs them* :)

Date: 2005-09-17 05:58 pm (UTC)What can I say? It takes that much anymore to get me liquored up. Though, hopefully with me cutting down, it won't take quite so much anymore.

Date: 2005-09-17 06:01 pm (UTC)I like FitDay, though there are some more features and tweaks they could work on. But it really opens my eyes when I see "OH. All told, I ate 5000 calories today. Gah." It's different when you see the numbers written down in front of you. :(
*hugs* Almost time for our vacations! Woooo! :)

Date: 2005-09-17 11:40 pm (UTC)Slacking off?
Date: 2005-09-18 12:29 am (UTC)The fee is still $12/week for in-person meetings, or you can opt to do the $12.95/month for online only. There are benefits to both styles, and for a while I was actually doing both at the same time. Nothing can beat the online tools they make available to you. They are incredible! There is a great, supportive online community as well.
I think the hardest part about the online experience was that it was just too much accountability for me. I didn't like being responsible for weighing myself, because I knew that I'd either avoid it or cheat and lie (which of course was only lying to myself, but still...)
WW is seriously the only thing that I've ever done that works. Now if I can just stay with it for real this time. ;P

Date: 2005-09-18 12:33 am (UTC)I know my problem. Pizza and liquor. If I could just tell myself not to crave those anymore, geez, I'd be looking hot!
