I've just been in this terrible mood for the past day, day and a half.
Started yesterday morning. I didn't get a lot of sleep, and I got up too late to go get a mocha. The day itself wasn't TOO bad, but it really drug on, and I had to have some coffee from work (which tastes terrible).
I rushed home, in the process getting called by Stef, ReneƩ, Rob, and Tabitha. Though I was very, very tired, I wanted to see everyone that night, and plus I had some stuff I needed to give ReneƩ. I took a couple of caffine pills, thinking a little extra energy might help.
Tabitha and I made it to Yoshinobo's. Very nice Japanese resteraunt. :) I was having fun until I started to really come down off my caffine high...I scarfed up my food like I hadn't eaten in weeks (and I was STILL hungry afterwards). By this point I was tired and irritated...oh, not with anyone in particular. I just kind of wanted to be somewhere quiet and alone.
I do have to thank Alexis for the cool origami she made me! :) That was really sweet of her! *hugs* :)
Well, everyone finally left, Tabitha and I went back to my apartment where Stef met up with us. We hung out for a bit and finally, around midnightish, I get to work on my computer.
I had just purchased a new motherboard, case, and CPU as I was going to give my old stuff to my stepdad for Christmas.
I was up until four in the fucking morning working on that shit. >_< And I could not get it to work! Finally, after getting ready to pass out from exhaustion and hunger, I just feel asleep.
I got up not too long ago, trying everything I can.
The problem is, nothing comes up on my monitor, and I have a feeling it's not booting up. Occasionally I'll get a long beep and two short beeps to come from the mobo, but that's it. It's got power. I tried switching out the RAM. I checked to make sure the CPU was connected properly. I tried to google what the problem might be, but my patience is at an end. From the beeping, it sounds like it could be the monitor or video card...but they were both JUST working!
So, now, on top of still being a bit tired, I'm extremely frustrated. I guess I could always ask someone like Karen to take a look at it...but it just feels like I'd be admitting defeat. Though, at this point, I just want the fucking thing to work.
Well, I'll shower, then call Stef and Tabitha, and go from there. If anyone has any suggestions for me to try, please feel free to post what it might be.
Grumble, grumble...

Date: 2004-12-19 11:57 pm (UTC)Basically, I installed the new mobo and CPU into the new case. I then transferred everything over (DVD-ROM, DVD-RW, Floppy, 180GB Hard Drive) to the new system. I also put on the mobo my two sticks of RAM, my AGP video card, and my Ultra100 PCI card (need it for my hard drive).
Still, even if most everything wasn't working, wouldn't I at least get the BIOS to come up?
I TRIPLE checked that the video card was securely fastened to the mobo. I tried my roomie's monitor with my new setup, and the same thing happens (no picture).
