I hate it when someone posts a comment saying, "Hey, can you put any/every pic behind an LJ cut? It's ruining my Friends page."

If it bothers you so much, take that person/community off your Friends list. Now, if the code is messing up a Friends page, that's one thing. But griping about images and such...join the 21st century and set your monitor resolution higher than 640 x 480 and get off the 56K modem.

Sorry, but I saw someone get bitched out at gamingtattoos about posting a pic (it was off-topic, but it was just a single pic) and it kind of bothered me.

It is like people complaining about the content of my LJ sometimes. It isn't like they have to F@$#CKING READ IT! Those people need to get a life. If it bothers them so much, remove the person. Otherwise quit 'yer bitchin. ;)

Even hentai images are a bit iffy. It's MY LJ! Though, I will still put those behind LJ cuts just because I know a lot of people access LJ from work. *LOL* And if it's 30 pictures, sure, I'll put those behind an LJ cut too.

But 2, 3, 5 images? It's not a big deal.

And what are people doing looking at their LJ at work? I do it, but I try to make sure no one is looking over my shoulder. It isn't my friends job to censor their journal because I want to read it at work.

Hm, good point. :) I wouldn't blame anyone for putting hentai or other naughty images up and not putting them behind LJ cuts.

A Live Journal is a place for a person to express their thoughts and ideas. It isn't meant to be censored unless the author wants to. That is my opinion anyway.

I can see it both ways really, as even though my *screen* resolution is widescreen, the *browser* is only 800-or-so wide to allow other things without too much cascading, etc... And if it gets messed up, meh... only lasts until more posts come out. ^_^

But still, even though I see their "rules" just changed this month... it's an image-based community! lol

Well, if you're posting images that are 1600 x 1200...heh, yeah, that's a little big. :)

But everyone should be able to handle 800 x 600 at least. I didn't see how big the Winter-een-mas image was at first...still, it was more the content that seemed to get people riled up. Obviously people who go to that community play games, so I didn't think it was too out of place.

well, i can see where people are coming from. even though my screen resolution is pretty decent(the one above 800x600 that i can never remember XD), my lj layout is made to only be able to handle pics and such that are like 500pixels wide or smaller or so... not sure exactly how much because my friend made it. and the entry box doesn't stretch because it's done as a background ^^; so if you look down my friends page like a couple days ago you'll see that my friends page looks all distorted lol

however, i personally don't care if people don't ljcut for the most part. lol i do somewhat find it funny that like every other post a couple days ago was too big for my layout though...lol. i personally like reading what my friends have to say so i can deal with that. besides, an easy remedy to that is instead of reading it on my friends page, i can just click on the person's journal and read the entry there too ^^;

*Most* people these days can. Companies like Comcast and Verizon, while not the best, usually offer pretty good deals (I think I've seen like $35 a month for a cable modem).

Of course, some people might be on some free dial-up...*shudder* If that's the case, I'm very sorry...how any web pages load on those services...
