I swear, when I get a new hard drive, I'm taking my current one out to a field and going Office Space on it. The thing is pissing me off and it's preventing me from doing con work. Anyway...

So, yes, I'm poor as hell right now. I just made the payment for my airfare which dropped me down to very little money. As much as I loathe to think about it...I might have to ask Dan for a trip to Costco where I can get a case of Top Ramen. Don't get me wrong, I like Top Ramen, but it's just so terrible for you. But it's better to eat bad food than no food. -_-

Ummm...not much else, I think I'm looking forward to the weekend. I could've sworn I had stuff going on tonight and tomorrow, but I honestly can't remember! Oh yeah, my list of chores? Got none of that done. -_- I'm a bad, lazy boy.

Oh well, luckily I have nothing going on Sunday, so I can use that to get things done.

Hmmm...maybe I'll encase my hard drive in cement and make it "sleep with the fishies". That would be some nice, sweet revenge. :)

Slicks' BBQ Saturday?

I've been pretty lethargic lately myself, too, letting things slide until "Oh shit" mode kicks in and a blitz of things get done. ^_^'

Yeah, I know there was that...which I may be going to, depending on Publicity stuff. Long story short, I might be getting together with Erin to work on the Press Pack. I'm hoping we can all just go to Slick's to eat and work. `^_^

I guess I have an excuse for not working, but it doesn't make me feel any better about it. -_-

Humm

I would use my .45 on my hard drive if it tried to mutany. Nothing I own dares to dissapoint me. ;)

I know how you feel with money. I might have to do the ramen thing as well. Oh well, the price you pay for a fun vacation. :D

I may have to enlist your help. >_<

Yeah, it'll be worth it. I need to get my app into Starbucks. I think the extra money would REALLY help. I hate the cost of living around here.

Commute

As always, if you ever feel ok about a commute, you could have a room at the house. (Assuming I get it. ;) ) I know it is a long drive, but the cost of living is WAY cheeper in Tacoma. :) Take care! Good luck with Starbucks.

Wow, thank you for the offer! :) Hmmm...right now I'm living with Dan, and I don't see that changing in the near future. But I know at some point he might want to get a place with Wade (maybe) or move home because of school. If the room's still open...oh man, that would be hella fun!

Yeah, if rent + utilities is less than what I would spend on the difference in gas, that's something I'd seriously consider.

And thanks! :)

Rent

How much do you pay in rent now? I would probably venture to guess that rent would be way cheeper. Roger was only asked to pay $300 or $400 and that included everything. Room, electricity, cable, internet, water, the works. He pitched in for groceries occasionally. :) It should be open. I don't forsee anyone else moving in the place in the near future.

Take care!

Whoa, really? Here's my current break down:

Rent: $400 (though this will be going up slightly when our six-month lease is up)
Power: Usually $35 (lately, it's been going down)
Cable: Usually $20
Internet: $64 (I have DSL with Speakeasy, so I don't have to have a phone line)
Water: Usually around $15

These are all after I've split them with Dan.

Hmmm....well, hey, I'll let you know what happens with Dan and I. Man, you rock. :)

No Problem :)

It is also cool because there is no lease terms. No deposit or early move out fees like apartments. :) Plus it isn't like Anne and I will be moving out anytime soon. (Hopefully)

The sodium content isn't what really bugs me, since I don't drink the broth. It's the saturated fat. They use a pretty good amount of oil which jacks up the fat content. >_<

If you know of something else that's about as cheap, I'd love an alternative. -_-

Really? Well, it's just like the movie...the movie and my life both have people with the same name as someone famous...though I don't mind it as much as Michael Bolton. *LOL*

Don't send your computer down here! We've got enough cement encased trash already. We're even organizing a protest. Fishies Against Repulsive Trash. :P

*sigh* Everything that I can think of that's good for you is too expensive. Geeze, how can people afford to be healthy anymore?

Hmmm. Maybe you can eat your hard drive! No saturated fat, no sodium, low calories, low carbs....

Heh, heh. :)

*nods* Sadly, that's how it is with food. Honestly, I don't think I have to worry too much...I have a couple of loaves of break, almond butter, a bag of frozen chicken, and lots of noodles and spaghetti sauce. I'm thinking I'll be okay, I'll just have to stretch food out a bit. If nothing else, I do have my multivitamins. :)

Hmm...lots of minerals in the hard drive, I would think. `^_^

That looks like such fun. I haven't thought of that. Currently I don't have anything to go Office Space on. But if you do that Dudelove, you gotta get someone to take pictures. Or better yet, video tape it. I wish I could be there to help you with that.

I do however have a TV that is starting to get a screwed up picture quality. But it's so heavy it may not be worth the effort to Office Space it.

And a bat may be good, but a sledge hammer would be better.

I'm hating that pile of shit so much, I think I'll have to get some photographic evidence to savor the memory. :)

Hmm...you're right, a sledge hammer would be much, much better. :)

This is an old computer you're talking, right? Not a new one that you could possible replace under warrantee?

Date: 2005-06-04 12:30 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dudelovenext.livejournal.com
I'll check the warranty for the hard drive...I've seen how most companies are with warranties, and it's so much hassle it's almost not worth it.

But, you bring up a good point. I probably should look into warranty replacements first...

It's a new hard drive. It's about...mmm...wow, I dunno how old. About a year I think?

Don't use the powder packets that come with the ramen. I suggest either spicing the noodles yourself with salt and pepper and perhaps adding some vegetables/chicken/whatever you have for a good meal! :D

*ponder*

You know, I like to get whole wheat spaghetti noodles. They're better than normal or ramen noodles...and...hm, maybe I could make my own healthy ramen from them?

Thanks Karl! You're a good inspiration for healthy cooking! *thinks* Yes, I have frozen veggies, some chicken, add some noodles, some spices; I could totally experiment!

No problem! Speaking of dinner, methinks I'm going to cook something similar for Angel and myself later tonight! :)

From: [identity profile] dudelovenext.livejournal.com
Woot! I'll try and experiment tonight and see what happens.

Can you recommend some good spices that are used in ramen or something like Pho to give that kind of flavor?

Date: 2005-06-04 08:34 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kapslocked.livejournal.com
I tried experimenting tonight and it didn't work to well... next time I'm sauteeing the chicken and onion separately from the soup like I usually do. :\

Don't EVER put too much of a spice. Had to remind myself of that b/c of my overuse of pepper. ;___;

I haven't tried Pho per se, but I know that they use beef stock and spice it with onions, cilantro and other small greens. As well as basil, but they ususally give you that when they serve it. It might turn out more expensive than you thought b/c spices are expensive. ^^;; Just try out whatever's around. I actually put in some Kikkoman after so it would actually have flavor. Cayenne pepper sounds really good for it. Not sure what else....

Because he had this one meme in his LJ that I wanted to show Kim. I've found it once before. It'll just be easier for you to tell me that to find it again.
