I'm Getting That Feeling Again

...where there's too much on my plate. I think it's a temporary thing, but still.

Sad to have missed out on Slick's party on Saturday. I'm so poor I gotta conserve my gas until next payday. So, just sat at home and got drunk. :)

Sunday...man, I dunno, I pretty much slept until about 8pm that night. I just felt completely drained, I couldn't motivate myself to do anything. Dan's right...sometimes you just need those days. I still hate 'em cause I feel so non-productive.

Today's going okay, especially considering I only got 4 1/2 hours of sleep (thanks to sleeping all day!).

There's lots of reasons I'm feeling this way (the too much going on). My financial status, for one. My computer, which is not allowing to really get a whole lot down (especially con stuff). On top of that, I got a call from my mom this morning. Seems like my Grandma King isn't doing so well. Like "you need to come over and vist ASAP" well. Most likely I'll be missing out on the Sakura-Con meeting this Sunday.

*sigh* Between everything that's been happening and preventing me doing my actual job within Sakura-Con, I'm considering just stopping. I've already had to give a bunch of excuses as to why I haven't been able to do my Press Coordinator job properly. Maybe I'll chat with Elmira about that...I'm gonna have to really think it over.

Oh well. There is some good news! I just saved a bunch of money by switching to Geico!

Nah, not really. :) I just had to say that.

No, I have been biking to work a lot, and for the most part, eating better (oddly enough, not having money means I've been eating better). I think that Quetz, Brack, and myself might do some biking this "weekend". We'll see about that...as out of shape nerds typically are, I know they're levels beyond me.

Well, almost time for lunch. :) There seems to be several events happening this month, so I'm sure I'll see people soon. :)

I kind of feel that way too. With the wedding coming up and work and the house, it seems like I don't have time to do anything but work and sleep.

Nope. I quit Team Sakura, ANCEA President, and I am not doing AMV's this year.

Yeah, I think I might just skip completely being staff this year. Honestly, last year wore me out a bit.

I think I'll just be "Dude Love". :) Since it won't be a 24-hour con, Stef and I will probably host the "Staff (or anyone else) Lubrication Lounge". :)

I know how you feel. Between running around trying to keep my life straight I'm in the process of trying to get full time at work I have 2 jobs for the convention which are taking up some time... on top of that I have some guilt for taking the Team Sakura Captain Position (I think Dessa wanted it and now I feel bad for various reasons).

I'm meeting with Elmira tonite so hopefully we'll get everything worked out.

*nods* I love Sakura-Con. I totally want to contribute, but I have to be mindful of watching out for myself, too (just making sure I don't overwork myself). I also have to consider, if there's someone else that can do the job and get the job done better...well...who am I to stand in the way? My computer's been a pain in the ass, and it's been preventing me from really doing work for Elmira.

Yeah, well my guilt is... well.. pretty big. I mean I have a feeling Dessa put a lot of work into planning events for Team Sakura (she's totally on the ball) but then I got the position. It reminds me of putting in a lot of work to get assistant director of publicity and then getting info. booth coordinator again. I feel guilty and though I want the Team Sakura Position I may step down because I don't want to take a qualified person away just because I wanted something. I already have a position, I should let someone else have one too.. (if it comes to it)

Well, honestly, it's who can do the job the best. I guess there's something to say that each person should have the opportunity to have a position...I guess it's just something to consider (and it sounds like you have).

between you and me, Dessa seems way more gung-ho about Team Sakura then I am. Not to say I can't do a fantastic job (cause I can and will) but from the correspondence I have had with her, she seems way more excited then I am. I keep thinking "How am I going to staff these things" "what am I suppose to be doing" "what are within my boundaries" etc.... while she seems to be planning away... we'll see. I don't want to give up the position, but I hope Elmira and I can find a happy medium.

Don't feel bad for Dessa. She kept telling me all last year that she was going to help and she was going to come to an event and help out and she didn't do a damn thing. I wouldn't trust her to do the job. That was my experience in Team Sakura. You have to be willing and able to do it all on your own because even though people say they will give you a hand, it usually doesn't happen.

An easy way to go is to look at the events went to last year and just repeat those events. That is pretty much what I did. You just have to bring flyers and hand them out. If registration wants to offer memberships at any events, have them send some of there staff to help take money and fill out forms. :)

Don't feel bad, I wasn't able to get much help either.... supposed to be a team, but no one usually is interested or able to help.

Eating healthy can be expensive at first when someone dives into it. But as you get to know the better foods and stores more, you can figure out how to save money. And it's said that it will save tons of money in the long term when you consider any medical costs in the future. That is a more extreme way to look at it though, but it was noted in the "Supersize Me" documentary.

Just a personal thing, I suppose. Even when my shirt touches my chest in a certain way I feel uncomfortable and have to shift around. Just imagining a heel there makes me feel really uncomfortable.
