I got up yesterday just tired anyway. Did you know that my nicest tops include my tye-dye tux jacket and my "Who Are You?" Nintendo shirt? Heh, my mom got a little mad at me for that. `^_^ But she had a shirt and tie for me at home, so I was able to wear that. You know, except for my double chin, I was actually looking pretty damn smooth in the khaki's, yellow shirt, blue tie, and captain's jacket (I'll post photos when my mom gets them developed).

Anyhow, we headed up to the grave site, and I was one of the Paul Bearer's. It was a little weird, but it wasn't too bad. We had a small family-only service there, then headed up to the church. It was dreary and rainy the whole time, too.

We got to the church and I'd seen people that I hadn't seen in years. The service began, and while I thought it was a bit preachy, it was good nonetheless. I was doing pretty good up until the closing when we all sang Amazing Grace. I pretty much just lost it right there, as I know it was an important song to my Grandma King and one of my dad's favorite. The whole first verse...I'm really glad we were all singing, because I could barely get any sound out.

Afterwards we stood around and talked and ate. I think the two people that stand out the most to me that day were the pastor's wife (my old piano teacher) Lelani and my cousin Kim. Lelani talked to me about how I was doing and my involvement with religion. I kinda skirted the questions, but basically said that I'm figuring things out for myself...which is essentially true. Also, my cousin Kim talked with me quite a bit when we all headed to my Aunt Debbie's. She lives in the area so we're gonna get together at some point. She's cool. :)

I headed home, again, just...super tired. I got home and tried to stay up for a bit, but I couldn't help it and fell fast asleep. For some FUCKED UP reason, I kept having nightmares. It was like I was watching a new fall lineup. There were five parts to the dream, though I only really remember two. One was a zombie dream, the other...man, ugh. Don't even wanna think about it.

So, today I have a million things to do. Like I said, I just don't feel like being around a large group of people so I'm skipping out on the Sakura-Con meeting today. Looks like I'll be seeing Jenny later tonight. *stretch* I should probably go jump in the shower.

How strange. My great grandfather died and the service sounds somewhat like you described.

...You weren't in Alabama, were you?

But I am sorry to hear about all this. It's nice to see relatives and sad to bury them, and it's tiring doing both. Best of wishes, DL.

Yeah, this service was done by a pastor, whereas with my Grandma Lion it was just family.

Heh, nope, just in Washington. :)

Thanks. :) I think I'm still a little out of it.

:'( *snuggles* Sounds like Mema's funeral. Her brother is a Pastor (as is his wife but I don't know if she's actually called "pastor" or what) and he did the service. Mom's cousin Guy sang Amazing Grace which was one of Mema's favorite songs, and it was rainy/dreary/uber-freaky weather that day.

Wish I coulda been there to give you a big hug. :(

I actually want to try and start wearing some suits. Like to lose a bit of weight first...but man, that sure would vary my wardrobe. Going from tye-dye to a suit, and back the next day? :)

Well..

They say it is the spice of life. I like suits.... not in the summer though.

Oh geez, yeah, no suits in summer. I get hot enough as it is! During the other seasons, though, that would be good. :)
