I dislike Wal-mart as well. They're popping up all over. They're too big for their britches....they're even bigger than friggen Microsoft!! x_x And they'll continue to grow up make more stores. Why? Because people are cheap bastards willing to drive alot farther to Wal-mart then pay an extra 25 cents for an item at the local store. XP

I admit that I do shop their once in a while because there's one about 1/2 mile from my mother's house, but I would NEVER work there. That kind of fake happy atmosphere is appalling.

I actually live where I can walk or bike to the local Walmart. Major savings when I don't even need to use the car and need things I can carry on me or my bike.

But you're right, the working atmosphere is appalling. I even spoke with a cashier about it, while she was behind the register. Same with Best Buy. It's so apparent and so commonplace, it seems to be accepted by the workers with an "oh well, what can we do?" response. Like a fact of life.

Best Buy's like that too? I guess maybe just not on quite the same scale as Wal-Mart...

I'm all about saving a few bucks (I can be pretty frugal when I want), but not at such a high cost. This is a company without any kind of ethics. It's disgusting.

I haven't shopped there...wow, it's been a few years.

It's not so much that they're big. It's the complete lack of ethics that they have. For as big as they are, how little their employees get paid. It's like a weird fucking cult.

Really? Adbusters seems okay to me. The shoes they advertise seem to be about as expensive as corporate shoes, though. `^_^
