I slept about 8-9 hours last night, so I really shouldn't be tired. `^_^

My Aunt Rhonda called last night. I'm gonna be helping her with a computer. She's thinking pre-built vs. custom made, so I'm gonna try and put a list together for her and see what she wants. She suggested Dell, which I made a face about, but she pointed out she's not exactly a tech-head and doesn't give a fuck if they're high-end parts or not. Which, I guess I could agree, it's certainly cheap. `^_^

Work is going sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowly today. I think I can feel a white beard growing on me, that's how today is. Dan, you had better be enjoying your day off; you should be here with me suffering helping people.

Tonight? I might finish cleaning my room (yes, I'll take pictures!) and maybe finish up Chocobo Dungeon 2. Tomorrow I might be getting together with Savannah and/or my Aunt Rhonda. Gotta finalize those plans.

flashback to 1999

I remember the moment I realized that pre-fab computers were cheaper than custom rigs. I was in the process of upgrading my computer so I knew all the current prices at places like Infotech, and I was at best buy looking at a Sony Vaio computer. I went down the list and added up the cost of building a similar machine, and it cost around 1,000 (to buy from scratch; case, mouse, kb, etc) as opposed to the 799 the Vaio cost, and the Vaio came with Windows, and probably rebates.

I used to suggest building your own to non-tech people, but now I just reccommend Vaios or eMachines.

Vaios seem pretty expensive, though eMachines don't seem too bad...I'll probably recommend that or a Dell. Kinda sad that custom machines are more expensive, but I'm sure 90% of computer users don't really care.
