Okay, Nate's kind enough to provide some free passes to a Thursday showing of Silent Hill. I'm still looking for a guest myself, since it looks like Arren's taking the other pass. Who wants in? :) I wouldn't mind a cute girl who wants an arm to cling to during the scary parts! ;) Or anyone who's interested I suppose. :)

Last night was fun, I sat down and played some WoW (which I haven't really done in like a month and a half). Stef watched Dan and I run around STV. :) Major connection issues though. I thought it might've been the home network, though Blizzard was saying that they were running into some "outside issues". Huh.

Random: Looking forward to my "weekend". Payday, doctor, and Silent Hill. Nearly done watching the first season of Lost. Picked up Brain Age the other day. Going to start making myself go to bed no later than midnight. Still going strong on "no pizza". Wondering how Sakura-Con elections will go this Sunday.

And...back to work. :)

I would love to go with you guy, even if it means leaving Sputnik early. I would insist on attending Sputnik, but I do not need to stay there the whole time. Especially if it means that you could go to Sputnik with me. And since we live in the same place now, giving me a ride home after the movie is absolutely no trouble.

Nate's gonna get there early to be in line, so I'm probably going to join him...he's going to be there around 7pm-ish. I'd like to be there no later than 8, so...I'm thinking of leaving the Eastside around 7:30-ish. If that's okay with you, then you got the spot, and of course I'll drive. :)

Lemme know!

Alright. I usually leave work at six, and I go from there directly to Digipen. If you can stop by for at least the first part of the meeting, that would be pretty cool.

Just let me know about the information (where it is, exact time, if I need to do anything special) and I'll meet you there. :)

From Sputnik's official forum:
6:30 pm refreshments 7:00 pm AGEIA Technologies: The Future Of Game Physics

AGEIA Technologies, developer of the PhysX SDK and associated PPU (physics processing unit), will be presenting and demonstrating their PPU and SDK. Representing AGEIA will be their Director of Applications Engineering. Powering their demos will be a dual processor PC system with high-end SLI graphics. This is not planned to be a marketing spiel - this is a tech demo! Come see the latest in new technologies!
Actually, this kind of sucks for me, because game physics are my specialty. I would propose a compromise though. If you come and find yourself bored out of your skull, then we can go at seven thirty. If you find it interesting, then I would prefer to push it up to the eight o'clock mark. I am not sure how flexible your timing needs to be, but I certainly would not want to push you back any further.

I'd like to try and get to the theater early, since I'm sure traffic's going to be a lot of fun, and since I'm not really familar with that area of Seattle, I want to make sure I don't get lost (or at least if I do, I give myself enough leeway).

I'll still go, but I'm probably gonna keep on the 7:30pm timetable, just for the reasons stated above.

On the contrary, the later we go the easier traffic will be.

I would say that I am familiar with that area of Seattle, but dispite how many times I have been there I still have trouble finding the place among all those streets.

Though, the later we go, the less I have to learn the streets of Seattle... :(

Take I-90 East, then I-5 North but get off at the Madison exit.

Turn left towards downtown, and then the first right. At that point you'd be heading towards the convention center.

Keep going, it should be 6th? I think?

You''ll see Pacific Place on your right, go about halfway past the building and the parking lot entrance will be right there!

Have a good time! did you get my email about a Nintendo-y favor?

:D

Yes. I should be able to do that. I think...$18 + tax. Pretty close to that.

Would you be able to stand the movie though, anyway? :)

I dun wanna go anyway hehe. I would probably start crying and wouldnt watch the movie.

Jasmines #1 weakness: Scary movies (especially zombie films...)

Unlike the Resident Evil series, the Silent Hill series has very little to do with undead. It is more like figments of your darkest imagination, nightmares from the dream realm that exists beyond our own, and the twists of an uncertain sanity.

That is where the horrific dangers of Silent Hill come from.

I reminded of the Simpsons episode where Millhouse gets a girlfriend and they go with Bart to one of the "Attack of the Space Mutants" movies. A monster pops up on the screen, then they both scream... -then immediately kiss, much to Bart's dismay.

In that case you should never play the level "The Shalebridge Cradle" in the game Thief: Deadly Shadows. I have even heard from experienced survival-horror players that the could not beat that level just because their nerves were too shot to continue.

I had a hard time with resident evil 4 so im pretty sure ill steer clear of that one game youre talking about

From: [identity profile] fearless-son.livejournal.com
Well, the game itself is not particularly scary. It is one of my favoret stealth-action series, and just an all around fundamentally good game, with its excellent art direction and sublime level design. It is that one mission in particular that I advise you not to play.
