dudelovenext: (What Is Ness?)

Yesterday was okay, but it got better. :) The ended with me taking a 65 minute Wi-Fi Connection call. This lady had a fucked up computer, so it wasn't saving her settings when she rebooted. She was really patient, which was cool, but it was frustrating since by the end, the USB Wi-Fi Connector still wasn't working. But I got her the right information, so it sounded like she was going to be okay.

After I headed home to freshen up, then I met up with Lauren. It was really good to see her! I totally missed her, I hadn't seen the girl since I think around Sakura-Con. Totally understandable why. But we caught up on a lot of stuff and it was great. :) Time flew by and we had been chatting for about three hours before I even realized it. `^_^

This morning? Not so great. :(

I get up and head over to BCC to meet with an academic counselor. They have no record of my appointment and the person I was supposed to meet apparently doesn't exist. -_- Not sure how well that bodes for future encounters with BCC, but the nice, hot girl at the reception desk was really apologetic and got me set up for an appointment for next Wednesday. :)

I had to run to Costco (this was about 10am), so I figured, "Well, rush hour should be done, right? I'll just hop on I-90 to I-405!" What should've been a 15 minute drive to Costco took more like 45 minutes. What the fuck is with traffic around here lately? :(

So now I'm just chilling. Trying to motivate myself to get to the gym. Heh, we'll see about that.

Man, I don't know WHAT was up with traffic today, but it was insane everywhere. I don't have to be at work 'til 10 a.m. and it usually takes me between 20 and 30 minutes to get from my place in West Seattle to where I work in Factoria. This morning? 35 minutes on the West Seattle Bridge alone. And then another 20 on I-90, which usually only takes about 7.

Good thing I left almost an hour early because I was bringing some furniture... @_@

I'm not usually on 405 that early, so that wasn't normal? That's good to know, but I wonder what casued it?

Glad to hear that you made it on time. :)

That was definitely NOT normal. I mean, 405 is usually unpleasant, but the traffic on the exit ramp to 405 from 90 was backed up all the way onto the freeway itself, back nearly to the previous exit! It was CRAZED.

I haven't the vaguest idea what caused it but I sure hope it doesn't happen again.

Yeah, we should! Where are you nowadays?

Who is the person that you were supposed to meet?

Oh, and you might consider walking to and from BCC for appointments/classes (time permitting.) It is a decent way to get a little extra exercise in and save a small amount of gas money.

From: [identity profile] dudelovenext.livejournal.com
Well, I'm almost certain the person on the phone said that her name was Sharon (the person I was to meet today).

I wouldn't mind that, but it's such a time drain, I'm not sure I would. Perhaps from time-to-time.

How I see it

Logic: So isn't - then, going to the gym a "time-drain" also?
And yet you find some way to make a priority. Just a thought.
Walking like that can really help speed your metabolism.

*ducks and runs away*

Ummm. BCC sucks sometimes with that crap. I'm only saying this through personal experience. Their guidance counselors annoyed me, at least the one I went to see, because she had ABSOLUTELY nothing more valuable to tell me than what I already knew and had researched on my own online.

I don't fucking understand the uselessness of some of those people up there.

Just a negative word from one who has been there in the last 6 months.
Not the answer you were looking for? Maybe you'll have a better experience than I had.

We should have coffee sometime soon or something!!!
And furthermore, we need to see how you fit in my new car!!!!!!
Loves.

Yeah, I had trouble with BCC's advising. Hence why it took me four-plus years to accomplish something that could have been done in two.

Good and not good.
Not good for your experience.
Good because I am not just being an overly judgemental-whiney-biatch.

Nope, because I have to try and plan out time that it'll take me to walk to BCC, and I am not good at all at making time estimates. I like to try and segment what I do so I'm not running out of time (but like I said, doesn't always work).

Plus, the gym is much easier for me. I have a wide selection of what I want to do, and it's temperature controlled so I don't have to worry about getting too hot or too cold.

Then there's my allergies.

So yes, a time drain. :)

Hm, now I'm not feeling so great about going. `^_^ I'll check it out (guess I'm seeing someone named Carol next week) and see.

Yes, we should! Let me know when you have a free day or evening or something! :)

Probably not tonight as it's GameNoc...though you're more than welcome to come!

Maybe...hmm...I think I have Saturday night open. If not this weekend, then maybe Tuesday of next week?

Then test it. Walk to BCC and back sometime. Time how long it takes you. Then you know. The nice thing about going on foot is that the time it takes you to get anywhere is pretty much constant. It does not fluctuate with traffic or breakdown issues like a car might.

Yeah. I've noticed the same thing.
Honestly. Walking for me almost always takes about the same amount of time.
I think it's a motivational issue more than anything else for SK.
:X The thing is - it's those little things that HELP a LOT with burning.
But we all have our own method of doing things.

Well, walking is probably the single most efficient way to burn calories.

I'm an indoor person, that's the thing. Or, I should say, a non-springtime person. That's my main issue. `^_^

It's also an easy bike-ride away, down 140th.

Bike riding is the best of both worlds, really.

Now that is a thought, since biking is so much faster...perhaps I'll test that tomorrow...

Today has been weird from the word Go. I woke up for no reason at 6:30. Traffic has been hellish, and nobody seems to remember how to drive. Work has been surprisingly efficient for once. The elements are confused, and I taste something metallic. I need it to rain, soon.
