Sleep: The Next Generation
Jun. 25th, 2006 06:13 amLast night? Probably the worst night's sleep I've had in a LONG time.
Yesterday was actually really fun, though. :) I headed down to Seattle and met up with the SC crowd standing in line. Just chatted and such and were eventually let in. Heh, spent most of my time in the bar (it was cooler and I wasn't feeling the mosh love) (and yes, we'll start those two weeks from today). Talked with Mira quite a bit, as well as Chris, Anne, and Tina! It was fun. :)
Afterwards we headed down to the Hurricane. Had some great Mario Kart DS matches with Charlie and Eric (Eric got lucky and beat me once!). Had a terribly greasy burger called the Hurricane Burger...oh, so freakin' tasty (and yes, we'll start those two weeks with healthier food from today as well)!
Headed home, and I was so tired, and I was ready to just crash...expect it was so fucking hot in my room I couldn't stand it. Cue about an hour of tossing and turning. Finally I decided to just go sleep in the media room since it's cooler down there. I like the Love Sack, but it's not the best bed. Cue another hour of tossing and turning trying to get comfortable. I FINALLY get to sleep, only to wake up at 6am because of the early morning light.
I swear that if this doesn't get better, I'm getting some tranqs. I'm really missing my sleep. -_-
Ah well, maybe it's good that I'm up so early. Lots of things to do, if I can stay awake. Good to see everyone last night! :) I'll see if I can't post some pictures soon. :)

Date: 2006-06-25 02:54 pm (UTC)So, what, you guys don't have air conditioning?

Date: 2006-06-25 05:41 pm (UTC)Nope, though with all this going on, I think I might be picking one up from Costco. I've been getting so uncomfortable I don't think I can avoid it anymore.

Date: 2006-06-25 04:00 pm (UTC)i tried to use sleeping pills, but that caused me to have 12-hr sleep through appointment mishaps.

Date: 2006-06-25 04:18 pm (UTC)I recommend you try melatonin, plus it doesn't make you feel groggy.
umm...what's a love sack? o_O

Date: 2006-06-25 04:36 pm (UTC)It was nice to finally meet you (even if only for a minute or so..) and put a face to a (LJ) name. Had I known you were sitting in the bar I might have been persuaded to join you. It was so hot at the show and I didn't even get into the main room. Egads. I would have liked to come join at the Hurricane as well, but big crowds make me somewhat queasy and Chris wasn't feeling very well/up to it.

Date: 2006-06-25 05:43 pm (UTC)Yeah, you too! Too bad we didn't get a chance to chat longer. Ah well, perhaps the next party or social get together. :)
It was just cooler in the bar, and while I don't typically have a problem with crowds, I wasn't feeling it yesterday.

Date: 2006-06-25 08:22 pm (UTC)I'm working up courage to come to a game night, but due to the new job (and thus new schedule), I may not ever make it. *sigh*. Antisocialness is my bad habit, I like to stay in and play video games or sew costumes.
As for music show crowds... well, you can probably guess I tend to hang out towards the back or in the bars. Only when it's someone I really love playing a favorite song can I convince myself to push through a crowd, and I usually get overheated because of it. I learned that lesson early, I nearly passed out at Hole/Marilyn Manson and had to be pulled out of the front until I could rehydrate. I try to pay attention to that and it was definitely kicking me yesterday. I love when shows are.. well, not packed, even though it's not the greatest for the band.

Date: 2006-06-26 08:27 pm (UTC)Aw, it'd be great if you could make it! It'd be nice to socialize with ya bit more and get to know you in person.
Hey, GameNoc has lots of things going on. We'll have people doing individual activites, but still socializing. :)
Yeah, it can be difficult, especially if you're a smaller person. When I was a bit more in shape, I could stay up front for a whole concert (such as NIN or Manson). Nowadays, only for about half the show before I'm about ready to pass out. I'm such a wuss. `^_^

I usually sleep upstairs in Nate's room but I'm going to recommend he and I move down to my room in the basement. It's so nice adn cool in here!

Date: 2006-06-26 08:29 pm (UTC)Yeah, it was nice and chill back there. :)
Lucky. `^_^ I really don't want to move anything downstairs...I prefer to sleep in my own bed. Hopefully this little heatwave will end soon.
