It's Official

I'm not really sure to how to start this, so I'll just start from Thursday.

Thursday Whitney and I went down to Fry's to look for a laptop. Her laptop is on the verge of dying, and I wanted to get one for school. I have a nice bonus coming up next month, so I figure I could splurge a bit and not worry about it.

I looked around and I didn't see much that I really wanted, but Whitney found a beast that she fell in love with. I'll admit it was a little over my spending limit, but she could do pretty much anything with it (SLI? Hell yeah!).

Then she suggested that it be an "engagement laptop". We're both geeks, and it's pretty non-traditional. :)

So I bought her the laptop, then said, "Whitney, would you marry me? Would you take this laptop as a sign of my love?"

And she said yes. :)

So, Whitney and I are now officially engaged! We don't have a date set or anything, and I'll buy her a decent ring at some point.

So yeah, we're both pretty happy about it. :)

EDIT: I'll post pictures of Whitney and the laptop tonight. :)

Seriously, congratulations to the both of you.

Make sure you keep it in a safe place when it is obsolete...for something so different, you've got to have something to remember the idea by.

Stephen, not much I can say on this.
Suffice to say I don't like where I feel this relationship has taken you. You just aren't the same person I knew nor have I felt that you grew. You may never have seen what some others and myself have but generally, I've found I just can't really accept you the way I used to. So yeah, I feel bad that so much of your news that you find so happy and revelatory I find myself disagreeing.

I'm glad to be in this relationship. I actually have grown. I'll admit that I haven't let a lot of people see it, but things have changed for me. I have to say that you make a lot of assumptions and judgements when I'm not sure you really know everything that has really been going on with me.
